CU Medicine – Geriatric Medicine welcomes older adults to its clinic at Kavod Senior Life in the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Health & Wellness Center. Three geriatric medical specialists offer high-quality services to both Kavod residents (any age) and community members (75+ years).

Patients MUST have an appointment, which can be made by calling 720.382.7800. See FAQs below before arranging services.

Dr. Mandy Peng
Mondays | 8:00am to 5:00pm

Dr. Mandy Peng, MD is a Board Certified Geriatric Medicine Specialist. She completed her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine in 2014 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at University of Colorado in 2017. She specializes in Geriatrician and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Jeff Wallace
Wednesdays | 8:00am to 12:00pm

Dr. Jeffrey Wallace, MD, MPH is an Internal Medicine Specialist with over 36 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from University of Michigan Medical School in 1984. He is affiliated with University of Colorado Hospital – Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion.

Maria Vejar

Maria Vejar, DNP, NP, RN is Geriatric Nurse Practitioner who earned an MSN at Pacific Lutheran University in 1997 and an DNP from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2012. She specialized in Geriatric Medicine, Primary Care, Seniors’ Health, Wellness and Prevention.

    The clinic is a full-service Geriatric medicine practice. This will includes but is
    not limited to the following services:

    • Office visits
    • Suture removal
    • Cryo (lesion removal)
    • Bladder ultrasounds
    • Blood draws with Quest lab service

    • Venipuncture
    • EKG
    • Ear wax removal

    CU Medicine accepts Medicare, Medicaid and VA Choice, among other contracted health plans.

  • How do I make an appointment?

    Patients who have not been seen before at CU Medicine (any location) will need call 720.382.7800 to schedule a new patient visit for their first appointment.

  • Is there a new patient fee?

    There is not necessarily a new patient fee, but a new patient visit is longer than a normal one and therefore has a higher associated charge. It is likely you will have a higher out-of-pocket expense for an initial visit. However, if you have been seen at Anschutz Medical Campus Seniors Clinic, you will only require a new patient visit if you are seeing a new physician.

  • What information is needed to set up a new patient visit?

    • Legal & preferred name
    • Mailing & email address and phone number
    • Date of birth (DOB)
    • Gender
    • Social Security Number (SSN)
    • Marital status
    • Insurance information, including “name
      on card” if different from legal name
    • Guarantor information
    • Preferred language/interpreter requirement

  • If I switch my PCP to the CU clinic, will I be able to stay with specialists I have used in the past?

    It depends on your insurance. You will need to contact you insurance provider to understand which providers and specialists would be covered.

  • Is the clinic offered only for Kavod residents or for others too?

    The clinic enrolls Kavod residents first (no age requirement). There is an age restriction of non Kavod residents; they must be 75 years of age or older.
