Kavod Lifts Visitor Restrictions on Monday, June 7

June 7, 2021, Denver, CO | After more than a year, Kavod will allow non-essential visitors on to its campus. With the wide availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and the reduction in cases in Denver, Kavod’s internal Task Force felt it was safe to open up the campus to community members.

Masks are still mandatory inside all buildings and visitors must complete a screening sheet upon entry.

Visitors are also advised to limit their movement on campus by going directly to their destination (such as a resident apartment) and then back outside. Residents who still do not feel safe around others may take advantage of Kavod’s outdoor visitation booths, where they may sign up to visit family or friends in these designated areas.

This decision to open the campus was made in alignment with industry standards and best practices as advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Colorado / Denver Departments of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE & DDPHE).

The Task Force will closely monitor the status of residents and staff to ensure infection control is maintained in the weeks following this decision.

Residents will greatly benefit by on-campus visits; they will help reduce social isolation, increase support, strengthen family ties and allow for more intergenerational connections with children and grandchildren.
