Joanie Bailey has over 10 years of experience helping individuals with technology. In 2017, Joanie founded TechOtter, which offers technology education and support to older adults. She provides relational and practical education to enable people to use technology confidently and safely.
Jane W. Barton, author of Caregiving for the GENIUS, is a passionate national speaker, writer and listener. As the founder of Cardinal, LLC, she provides educational programs, books, videos, podcasts and blogs to assist people in confronting the daunting challenges posed by aging, serious illness and the end of life.
Mandie Birchem is the first staff member to serve as Kavod Senior Life’s Director of Health and Wellness. Mandie was instrumental in helping Kavod build the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Health & Wellness Center in 2017 and oversees care coordination and health programming for Kavod residents and community members, managing over 13,000 visits to the Center in 2018.

Carol Buchanan is the Director of Programs at Denver Regional Mobility and Access Council (DRMAC). Carol is DRMAC’s resident transportation resources specialist. She oversees the publication of DRMAC’s Transportation Information and Assistance Center and the publication of DRMAC’s annual transportation guide.
Patricia Cook is Project Manager at the Colorado Gerontological Society. She has been in the nursing profession since 1969 and has a vast experience in aging, senior housing, assisted living, home care and community health. Patricia coaches seniors, their families and legal representatives in social security issues, Medicare, state aging programs, including Medicaid.
Sam DeWitt joined Compassion & Choices in 2017 as the Colorado Access Campaign Manager. He has built and supported five volunteer Action Teams across the state to educate and empower citizens to speak to their physicians about their end of life choices.
Catherine Dockery is owner of the Center for Conscious Aging, an emotional wellness educational organization. She is a certified conscious aging facilitator, motivating older adults to embrace change for improved health.
Rabbi Dayle Friedman is a spiritual guide, social innovator, chaplain and scholar. Through Growing Older, her Philadelphia-based, national practice, Rabbi Dayle offers spiritual direction for people beyond midlife, spiritual care for people facing dementia and frailty and consulting on medical decisions and end-of-life care. She was ordained by HUC-JIR, and earned master’s degrees in social work and Jewish communal service from USC and HUC-LA. Her work has been recognized with awards from The Forward, the American Society on Aging, and The Neshamah Association of Jewish Chaplains.
Rabbi Bernard Gerson is a Customer Care Representative at Anthem / Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the first stop in his second career within healthcare, which he sees as a critical platform for sustaining America’s resilient and aging population. He retired this past July from a 25-year tenure as Rabbi of Congregation Rodef Shalom and Judaic Studies Teacher at Denver Jewish Day School.
Emma Gift, MSW is a Resident Care Coordinator at Kavod Senior Life. She has a master’s degree in social work, with a concentration in Aging Services and Policy from the University of Denver. She has always been passionate about the needs and rights of older adults and learning about how to honor independence, while still being in harmony with the aging process.
Sarah L. Golombek, Esq. is an elder law attorney at the Law Office of Sarah L. Golombek, LLC. Sarah is a former Law Clerk with the Denver Probate Court and a Board Member of the Colorado Guardianship Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Journal. She was a Colorado Super Lawyers Rising Star 2012-2018 and a Super Lawyer in 2019. Sarah is on the Kavod Senior Life Board of Directors.

Kerry Hildreth, MD is board certified in Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine and an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has a clinical practice in the University of Colorado Seniors Clinic, where she provides primary care to older adults. Her research focuses on the links between cardiovascular disease and dementia, and how the loss of hormones with aging affect these diseases. Kerry sits on the Kavod Senior Life Board of Directors.
Cherie Karo Schwartz is a storyteller, author and teacher. Using storytelling and improvisation in her performances, workshops and residencies, she has shared stories and creativity with thousands of people of all ages for four decades across the US and abroad, including Israel, Canada and Turkey.
Rabbi Raphael Leban is Managing Director at The Jewish Experience. For almost two decades in Denver, Rabbi Leban has been a teacher of Torah (the Bible), with a devoted following of students from across the community. He studied at the Mir Yeshiva in Israel and received Rabbinic Ordination at the Jerusalem Beis Din.

Rabbi Evette Lutman is the Rabbi at B’nai Havurah. She received her rabbinic ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College (RRC) and a Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Rabbi Evette infuses the B’nai Havurah and larger community with Reconstructionist values and a love and joy for Jewish learning.
Ross Mays is a Reference Librarian at Denver Public Library. He holds master’s degrees in psychology and library science, and is the co-creator of the popular How to Spot Fake News class at the library.
Heather Meloy is a licensed acupuncturist, certified massage therapist and yoga teacher. She has 21 years of experience in the mind-body arts. She has been teaching at Kavod Senior Life for over 12 years. Her studies include extensive therapeutic massage, Chinese Medicine, nutrition and Buddhist meditation training.
Rabbi Anat Moskowitz was ordained in 1999 from the Zeigler School for Rabbinic Studies and has served two congregations prior to service at Congregation B’nai Torah. She is involved in community organizations and events which include interfaith clergy groups, The Rocky Mountain Rabbinic Council, Jewish Family Services, Hadassah and various advocacy groups supporting child welfare and the GLBT communities.
Tyson Oberndorfer, MD is co-founder of the UCHealth Fall Prevention Clinic. He completed medical school and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Colorado. He then completed his Geriatric Medicine fellowship at Harvard before returning to the University of Colorado and joining faculty in the Division of Geriatrics in 2017. His professional interests include dementia and fall prevention.
Pam Roth O’Mara, an author, artist, instructor and performer, studied acting and body movement at the American Repertory Theater Program at Harvard University. She teaches improv and integrated creative arts programs, she is an accomplished visual artist and her paintings appear in several galleries.
Lynette Reiling, Volunteer Recruitment Manager at Boomers Leading Change, is a Certified Life Coach, specializing in midlife reinvention and an instructor at Arapahoe Community College, where she teaches adult education courses for people age 50+. Lynette’s mission and passion is to change the narrative of aging through education, advocacy and inspiration.

Debbie has a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Denver.
