Story Behind the Venue
The Grant-Humphreys Mansion was built in 1902 in a Beaux-Arts style commissioned by James Benton Grant, the third Governor of Colorado. The mansion was sold to another influential family, the Humphreys, best remembered for opening Denver’s first airport. In 1976, it was bequeathed to History Colorado, so that future generations of Coloradans could continue to enjoy the beauty of the building.
